Find out more about Online Safety

This Safer Internet Day, check out our new page about staying safe online.

This week marks Safer Internet Day 2010, which takes place on Tuesday 9th February. SID is an annual event to promote safer and more responsible use of online technology and mobile phones.

There are ways to make sure that you stay in control of your online safety, or that of your children, to stay as safe as possible. However, it's not always clear how to use them. For example, do you know how to apply a parental control filter to Google, change your Facebook privacy settings, or report inappropriate comments in a chat room?

Fortunately, a huge amount of advice and information is available online, and SIL is pleased to announce that we have created a new page on our website dedicated to online safety. The page contains links to helpful, reputable resources aimed at children, young people, parents, carers and professionals. The information can help keep the internet safe and fun.
