Dawn Johnson
Dawn Johnson, from Parson Cross, had heard of Sheffield Information Link through her work at a children's centre. She sent in a postcard requesting information about childcare, and ticked the box indicating that this was for a child with a disability or special needs.
When the postcard reached SIL, childcare information was sent out promptly. Dawn's information request was also passed to the team at our specialist SIGN Information Service, which offers a range of detailed information to the parents and carers of children with disabilities, special needs and health conditions, as well as the professionals who support them. Our Information Officer Rachel was able to contact her with additional information about the support available in Sheffield within the school system, such as that provided by the Parent Partnership.
